BlackBerry: How to Reset Lock Code

For security purposes and privacy, the device lock on on a BlackBerry device prevents unwanted access to the phone’s memory. A password which is hard to guess by even your family, close friends and associates but easy to remember by you is advised.
Sometimes in the event whereby a password is compromised, a user changes/resets the password to re-secure the phone, this could happen many times. To change your blackberry phone lock code, you must reset it from the device menu.

Follow the following Steps:

1. Press and hold the red End Call button for your phone to boot up.

2. Press the Menu button/key to open  the Applications page.

3. Scroll to the Settings icon and click to open the BlackBerry settings menu.

4. Click Options from the settings menu.

5. Click Password and then Reset Password.

6. Type in your old BlackBerry password and press the Enter button/key.

7. Type in your new BlackBerry password and press the Enter button/key.

8. Type in your new BlackBerry password again and press Enter.




 Note:  If you've forgotten your current blackberry password, then the password can't be reset.
Though there's a way out.

Type in the wrong BlackBerry password 10 times and then at the screen prompt, type the word BlackBerry. Your Phone will be reset back to factory settings (i.e your phone default settings when you bought it). 
Now you cant set your phone password to whatever password you wish.

Instructions

  1. Press the red "End Call" button until your BlackBerry phone boots up. Press the Menu key to open the Applications page. Scroll to the Settings icon. Click it to open the BlackBerry settings menu.
  2. Click “Options” from the settings menu. Click “Password.” Click “Reset Password.”
  3. Enter your old BlackBerry password. Press the "Enter" key. Enter the new BlackBerry password you have chosen. Press the "Enter" key. Enter the new BlackBerry password and press "Enter" again

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don’t know the current password of the BlackBerry phone in question, you can’t reset the BlackBerry password. Your only option is to enter the wrong BlackBerry password ten times and then type the word “BlackBerry” at the screen prompt. This will reset the BlackBerry phone back to factory settings. You can then set the BlackBerry password to whatever you like.
